Technical overview

Find the most important specifications

Here you will find key technical information about Flow Loop, including installation, water purification, safety, electricity, water connection, dimensions, and mounting conditions. Open the individual sections to see the relevant specifications.

Legal installation and use

The product is CE-marked.

In accordance with DS/HD 60364-7-701:2007 for electrical installations in wet rooms, the following applies:

  • The shower and shower panel are approved for installation in Zone 1
  • The power supply is approved for installation in Zone 2

Operating voltage

The internal operating voltage of the Flow Loop shower panel is:

24VDC

Water quality

The product meets the requirements for:

EU Excellent Bathing Water Quality 2006/7/EC

Water treatment in several steps

Flow Loop uses several purification steps to treat the shower water during recirculation.

Filter 1: Pre-filter 400 μm
Filter 2: Microfilter 10 μm
Filter 3: UV light, 253 nm log 4–6

The UV light removes approximately 99.99% of pathogenic bacteria.

Protection against untreated water in the shower

If the UV light fails, recirculation cannot be activated.

Protection against water overflow

Flow Loop’s drain grate is equipped with overflow protection.

Separation between drinking water and recirculated shower water

The drinking water supply is separated from the recirculated shower water by an air gap in accordance with EN1717.

Protection against scalding and unstable temperature

Safety and comfort comply with EN1111, sections 13.2–13.5.

Installation environment

The Flow Loop shower panel must not be installed in water, meaning wet room Zone 0. The product is therefore not suitable for installation in bathtubs, spas, or pools.

The shower panel may only be installed indoors and in frost-free rooms.

Electrical connection

The power supply is connected to:

180–264VAC

An earthed socket is not required. The power supply must be connected outside wet room Zones 0 and 1.

A cable is run between the power supply and shower panel:

24VDC / 10A

The internal voltage of the Flow Loop shower panel is:

24VDC

A separate switch is recommended, but not required. However, it must always be possible to disconnect and reconnect power to the shower panel, for example in connection with service and repair.

Energy consumption

Standby: 1.4 watts
In use: 166 watts

Water connection

Thread size for cold and hot water:

¾”

Water pressure

Recommended water pressure:

3–10 bar
300,000–1,000,000 Pa

Limit values:

Minimum 0.5 bar
Maximum 10 bar

Min. 50,000 Pa
Max. 1,000,000 Pa

Water flow

The cold and hot water connections must each have a flow of:

8–12 liters/minute

Supply temperature

Cold water, recommended: maximum 15°C
Hot water, minimum: 50°C
Hot water, recommended: 55°C

Water consumption during recirculation

Approx. 2 liters/minute

Floor requirements in the shower niche

It must be possible to build up a 6 mm water level at the shower panel’s intake unit, directly below the shower panel.

A slope of:

1–3%

is recommended.

Supported drain types

Flow Loop supports:

  • Point drain with triangular grate
  • Point drain with square grate
  • Point drain with round grate
  • Linear drain

A special Flow Loop drain grate is included.

Drain requirements in the shower niche

Flow Loop requires an individual drain for each shower.

There must be no shared water flow between multiple shower niches, as this would prevent control of the recirculation function.

Mounting

Flow Loop is wall-mounted on a vertical, flat wall.

The bracket is fixed with:

4 pcs. 5 mm screws with round heads

Weight

Dry weight: 38 kg
Wet weight during use: 46 kg
