Wateruse when showering
The Danish knowledge center “Bolius” has investigated how much electricity, water, and heat an average Danish household consumes. Water use for bathing and personal hygiene accounts for a significant portion of the water bill.
45% of household water is used for showers.
According to Bolius, approximately 45% of a household’s total water consumption is used for “bathing and personal hygiene.” Of this, the majority—around 80%—is spent on showering alone. This means that a typical Danish family uses as much as 35% of their total water consumption on showering.
What does it cost?
On average, a shower costs about EUR 1, including both water and the energy required to heat it. Naturally, this amount can vary depending on the family’s habits and heating source. For a family that showers daily, this can amount to several thousand Euro annually.
Great potential for savings
This not only highlights how essential showering is in household routines but also reveals a significant potential for savings. By optimizing habits and choosing water-saving solutions, it’s possible to make a notable difference both financially and environmentally.
Flow Loop’s recirculating shower, LOOP, can make that difference.
